Welcome to UP2YOUTH: Youth - actor of social change

UP2YOUTH findings in short Print

The UP2YOUTH project has been starting to publish its results on "Youth - actor of social change" in a series of three UP2YOUTH Newsletters.

up2youth_newsletter_1-09"Transitions to work in migration societies" is the current UP2YOUTH Newsletter 1-09. It presents findings of the thematic working group concerned with transitions of young people with an ethnic minority or migrant background in Europe.

The current issue is the second of a mini-series of three sub-sequent monothematic newsletters – each issue presenting findings of one of the three UP2YOUTH sub-themes: transitions to work of ethnic minority youth, transitions to parenthood (UP2YOUTH Newsletter 2-08 published in September 2008) and youth participation (2-09, to be published shortly). The three topics represent areas of social change with regard to youth and the transition to adulthood. According to the overall objective of UP2YOUTH, they centre around the question to what extent this change results from young people’s agency and what young people need to act in ways which contribute both to social integration and subjectively meaningful biographies.

In-depth analysis of the three topics under study can be found in the three UP2YOUTH Thematic Reports avalaible online from this website's downloads section, as well.
