Commission adopts Communication on youth Print

The College of Commissioners on April 27 has adopted the European Commission's Communication on a new youth cooperation framework for 2010-2018.

The new Communication, entitled "Youth: Investing and Empowering", proposes a cooperation framework around three main areas for the whole nine-year period, each with 2-3 identified priorities for the first 3-years:

1: Creating opportunities
Education, Employment, Creativity and entrepreneurship

2: Improving access
Health and Sport, Participation

3: Fostering solidarity
Social inclusion, Volunteering, Youth in the world

Together with the Communication, the Commission has launched the Youth Report, consisting of data, statistics and short analyses of the situation for European youth in many different areas. It is the first time the Commission has produced such a report, and it is foreseen that follow-up reports will be produced every three years.
