Workshop Education and Socialisation:
Key Focus
The results of the latest international comparative
school survey, PISA, have lead to a broad public and political discussion in
Germany. Like in no other country pupils showed big differencies in
competencies with a tendency of medium and low levels. The success in school
largely depends on the economical and educational resources of parents.
The
workshop aims at looking at theories, institutions and processes of formal,
non-formal and informal education explicitly in the context of theories,
institutions and processes of socialisation.
