Brief description
of institution
|
The URMIS studies
the processes of identification and redefinition of social frontiers and of
power relationships that are underlying the migration of people, of ideas and
beliefs. The Unit analyses these issues through a constructivist approach
that considers personal identifications as well as ethnic and racial
dimensions of collective groups as social productions. Its research projects
draw a particular attention to: the
effects of mondialisation on the opening up of local spaces, the
multiplication of supranational or international decision making places, the
growth of transnational networks in economic, cultural and religious
exchanges.
